Edward:
When you looked out the window from your hotel room, you saw our house. Thus, I don't need to explain what we love about Cabo....
We've lived in Cabo for about nine years. We're only here about six months a year. Cabo has perfect golf weather, and even though I'm horrible, I play three to six times a week. Cabo is also famous for the fishing.
As with anywhere, what really makes a community great is the neighbors, and we've got an amazing set of neighbors.
When most of the people in our community moved here, Cabo was still pretty primitive. Times have changed, and today, Cabo isn't really much different from living in the US, but nine years ago when we first came to Cabo, it was a difficult place to live. I remember the days when the whole neighborhood would get excited about someone finding decent tomatoes somewhere. We used to have to bring all our meat with us from the U.S. Today, there are movie theaters, Costco, Home Depot, etc -- but, not in the 'old days.' I mention this only because our neighborhood has many people, like us, who have been here since before Cabo was a 'modern town.' It takes a certain personality to move to the middle of nowhere, and to no surprise, several of our neighbors are boaters. There's a level of self-reliance you need, and an adventurous spirit.
I don't mean to imply that old-Cabo isn't still here. It remains a wonderful place, and the Mexican culture is still to be found. But, today, we have traffic jams, McDonalds, Burger King, etc. When neighbors get together, we do talk once in a while about where we would go, if we could go anywhere else, and no one has yet come up with a place we'd rather be, but it is a much different town than we all moved here years ago.
