I did consider FT Navvision, and would certainly consider it if I had the decision to make over.

At the time I selected my electronics, I was a fan of Larry Smith Electronics (LSE), and they strongly recommended against FT Navvision. This was controversial in that Nordhavn has successfully installed FT Navvision on several boats, and was recommending it. I ultimately sided with LSE, who wanted Radio Zeeland. Then a few months into the project, LSE called to say we were switching to Simon from Palladium. At the time, something seemed wrong, and now I'm not sure whether the decision was made based on what they thought was best for my boat, or based on which venders were still supplying LSE given their cash flow problems.

Thus far, I've been very happy with the people at Palladium (Simon). They have been responsive and helpful sorting out the mess. I liked the demo to their software, and hopefully all will go smoothly from here.

Hi Ken,

I came across FT NavVision (http://www.freetechnics.nl/) and I wondered if it showed up on your radar when you were deciding upon a monitoring system for SSII?  It certainly seems to have been installed on a number of well known super/megayachts.  Thanks.
